Our First Year
Our Founding Families
We’re looking for growth minded founding families who are excited to send their children to a school that still practices ancient ways of raising children, wants to work as a team at the school and in their homes, and are thrilled to break education’s current mold so their children can have a brighter future!
If this sounds like your family…
…Then your children will
Help set the tone for workshop meetings
Become leaders in agile project management and conflict resolution
Enjoy extra field trips during the first year (We’re already looking into two trips to Universal!)
Help set the schedule for work and play based off of what the children need
Will get to choose the type of science experiments run for the first year
And most importantly, will set the standard for their rite of passage into adulthood that future generations will all admire!
Four days per week
micro school.
Registering a school with the state is a long process. Since there is already a need now within our area for a micro school, we’re going to start our first year as technically a four day per week tutoring center.
That means your children will need to be registered homeschoolers with the county or an umbrella school and they’ll be following our ‘curriculum’ for their homeschooling.
We should be registered as a school for the 2026 - 2027 school year, unless everyone prefers this method…then we can just stick with it.
What will the first year workshops look like?
Since we’ll have a smaller group our first year, we’re looking at locations that have big, open spaces and the ability to create space for small group work. We’re also focused on finding a location with lots of outdoor space so everyone gets at least 10 minutes of outdoor time for every hour they’re working.
As we expand, our goal is to build different buildings for our workshops on 11 acres so there’s plenty of space for everyone to play during brain breaks.
The first 8 weeks of school

The first 8 weeks of school *
Our first 8 weeks we’ll focus on team building, social emotional learning, and how to give and take criticism constructively.
Our first two weeks will look like core work in the morning, lunch, team building, and a life skill.
The second six weeks will look like our regular schedule with some extra breaks in there for team building and taking certain skills at a slower pace depending on what the workshop needs.
It will end with our first quest presentations and a week off!
Can parents volunteer?
Yes! Absolutely!
That definitely aligns with our culture and we’d love to have help! As we accept new families, we’ll be asking for parents’ strengths so they can help with things they love. And we’ll need parent volunteer drivers for field trips!
Can new families come in during the year?
Yes! We welcome new families and learners!
We’ll have five times during the year where new families can come in for a week long trial. During the trial the new learner will have a buddy who will help him or her with the schedule and be there for any small questions through the day (like if they forgot where the bathroom is). Our goal will be to see if new learners are ready to contribute to our learning environment, or if they need more time to be team players. If it seems like a good fit, then we’ll accept them and keep growing!
